hello!

i remember seeing a review for the dazzle hollywood dv bridge in macaddict, and they mention that it has a LANC control jack. however, looking now at the dazzle web page, it seems there is no mention of this jack. so did dazzle remove this feature?

thanks,

tr

It still has a LANC jack. They must've forgot to mention it.

thanks, guys. it's strange that dazzle doesn't mention this on their product specs...haven't seen any other convertors that have this feature.

it's a jack (looks like a minijack) that allows you to connect devices that use the LANC (also known as control-L) editing protocol. in the case of the dazzle, when it is hooked up to a VCR or camcorder with LANC, you would be able to control the camera transport functions from the computer, like pressing play in iMovie would play the tape on your device. with firewire enabled dv cameras, this type of control is standard.
