I just installed the new MS Media Player 7 for Mac - is it me or is this product sucking more with each release? Just as MS releases this version, they have to rub in our faces all the features of Media Player 8 (that we can't use as Mac owners) I mean, what's the point?

So I try to be open minded about this and try 7 anyway. The page I try it on (MS own content page) I get errors. I try another site with streaming content - more bizarre errors with cryptic warning messages indicating incompatible versions.... whatever. I deleted this piece of dung within five minutes. I should have taken that "scanning for older versions" process that lasted for ten minutes as a warning. Whats up with THAT? Scanning for what - ??!!

MICROSOFT YOU SUCK AND ARE THE BAIN OF MY EXISTENCE. I HOPE YOU GO BANKRUPT or A VERY LARGE METEOR CRASHES INTO YOUR HQ (when no one is there, of course)

Phew.

actually i have never had a problem with version 7, i am actually kinda happy with it (as much as i can be, after all it is a m$ product)

i have opened file on my hard drive, and used it to play stuff from cdnow too. works fine in classic mode too.

maybe i am just lucky... i dont know

WMP 7 for Mac works fine for me. If I recall the installer warns to manually remove certain extensions if you had a previous version of WMP installed.

Sure Micro$oft's suppor of Mac WMP sux, but v7 is the best yet.

&BTW after I installed WMP7, my Outlook Beta stopped working. Just FYI.
