when i load http://www.apple.com/quicktime/ i get an error box in the lower right that says:

ALERT
quicktime is not properly installed

please visit the quicktime d/l page to d/l the latest installer...


now this is odd, because i've got 5.01...

anyone see this or have any ideas?

Have you ensured that your browser's plugin has been updated to QT 5?

I agree it's a plug-in issue. It loads fine for me now (I have 5.01), but I got that a few months back right after I'd reinstalled my browser ... that spot on the page is where the QuickTime TV channels load if you have the right plug-in. What browser are you using?

i'm using icab, and the plug in is definitely v. 5.01
i deleted it and reinstalled it and now can get the correct qicktimetv window.
