Please help!! I made an iMovie and burnt a VCD, which I can replay as a QuickTime movie in my T-book, as well as my G3, but not in my Sony DVD/VCD player. Also, it will not play in my PC laptop, which has a CD-ROM drive but not a DVD drive. Can anyone help me with this? What should I do to make the VCD be playable in both platforms? I have Toast 5 and a Que drive. What format should I use?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Check out the VCD Helper Web site:
http://www.vcdhelper.com
They have tons of great information all about VCDs including links to software.
They also have a very handy database that will tell you if your DVD player is capable of playing CD-R disks and/or VCDs (and therefore, you can see what players will play your home made VCD).

Do you have QuickTime for Windows on your PC? You should be able to play the VCD with QuickTime for Windows. There is even a QuickTime .mov file of the movie to play on my Toast 5 VCDs (usually this is not part of a VCD). Many commercial VCDs won't play correctly with QuickTime on a Mac because the Apple CD/DVD Driver extension does not recognize some parts of VCD formatted CDs. But all of the VCDs I've made with Toast 5 play just fine.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I do have QT in my PC, but it told me my VCD is not recognized. What I want to do is make a VCD for both platform. I will go check out the VCD help.

I'm a little out of my element here but does it have to be a VCD? Can't you just burn the QT .mov file to a ISO formatted CD and then play it through QT for Windows on the peecee?

Yes, that is definately another option. Saving it or "exporting" it through QuickTime Pro will also give you all sorts of options for saving the file.
But you sure should be able to play a Mac-made VCD on your PC (although I don't think that QuickTime Player would be the best software to play it with). I'll bring one of my own iMovie/Toast VCDs to work tomorrow and test it on one of our PCs just to see what happens...

Exporting with QT and Toast 5 Titanium creates VCDs that are readable by most VCD players (either in PCs, or external boxes).
Beware: large QT movies can take a LONG time to convert over...
