itunes 2.0.3 on Mac OS X:

just experienced again that some links in the music library suddenly appear broken and not related to the corresponding MP3 files anymore. For example, about 10 MP3 files of one specific artist were suddenly broken.
No files were moved inside the library itself or whatsoever.

Anybody experienced this problem too from time to time ?

I seem to remember similar problems when I transitioned from iTunes 1.x to 2.x. I haven't seen it since I rebuilt my iTunes Library a while back. To rebuild it, delete the iTunes Library files (there should be two)in your Documents/iTunes folder inside your home folder, (re)start iTunes, and then drop the iTunes Music folder in that same folder onto the iTunes window. That'll give you a clean Library file but, unfortunately, it'll wipe out any playlists you might have defined so you'll have to redefine them.

Yeah, I've had the same problem with links randomly breaking in 2.0.3. Very frustrating at times. I'll try rebuilding the library. I'm going to hate losing my extensive playlists.
