Simple question. How is the image quality of DVD films viewed on an LCD screen such as the Apple 15" model? I am amazed at how good the image is on my iMac DV.

On a Apple 15" Studio it looks like HD Tv.
Not all LCD's are created equal however.

I have one of the original Apple Flat Panel Studio Displays (15") and lemme tell you, I can stand to watch DVDs on anything else!

The quality is purely amazing. In well mastered DVDs such as The Matrix, when there's a closeup of someone's face, you can count the pores on their face! It's that good!

Just make sure you watch DVDs that are the widescreen format. I've seen a few DVDs that were taken directly from VHS and they suck arse! Plus you see the movie they the cinematographer intended you to view it.

Hope that helps! Later!

It does indeed help. My cube and 15" display should be arriving today. Can't wait to pop a movie into the toaster! (I think I'll run "Fantasia" first)

I have an ibook and I will tell you it is AWESOME. I was at the Apple Company Store in Cupertino (where I like to go to sacrifice burnt offerings) and they had the 22" showing Bugs Life and it was the BEST quality I have ever seen in my life but when I bought my ibook it looked just as good just too bad it wasn't 10" inches bigger .
