Has anyone heard any rumors? I've read that a group of select developers have been testing QT 6.

Are we going to get a real "Pro" version that actually resembles a program with a real interface and not just a collection of Scripts to use with that damn player? Since it has sold over 1 million copies, don't you think it's entitled to a real makeover? It kind of looks out-of-place next to the rest of Apple's lineup.

I have heard rumors for a while about QT6 and some of it's new features (MPEG4 is the big one!) Like Divx for the PC, but using standards. Real is also on board with the MPEG4 standard. I can't wait.

Apple really needs to promote this version of QuickTime like they have iTunes, iMovie, and now iPhoto. If they can get MPEG4 to the point where you really can't tell the difference between it and MPEG2, with very small file sizes, Apple could be on the brink of something amazing (once again)

I only hope it comes out... To have VHS+ quality movies @ < 600MB would be great. But at www.quicktime.com they still say version 5 is new...
