I hope I am posting this question in the right message board. If not, could someone please redirect me?

I have just bought a copy of Toast 5 titanium. I also made a 45 minute iMovie2 which I exported to QT w/ the Toast plugin selected. The resulting .mov file is 485 megs.

I have 508 megs free on my HD. I have opened Toast 5 and selected the "Other" in the file type tab and selected VideoCD in the pulldown menu, just like the manual says.

But everytime I try to drag the movie file onto the Toast window, I see a progress bar coming for half a second and then the following message:

Couldn't execute last command because the disk is full Error code -34

But I have over 500 megs free... Is there a formula to find out how much scratch disk space you need if your movie file is 485 megs? Am I doing something wrong?

I am using an iMac SE 400 - 13 gig HD (11 of which are the source files for this movie) and system 9.0.4 Toast is 5.0.1

Thank you very much for any help.

It might be allocating enough space for a full VCD? I don't know... but a full VCD can be 740MB or so, or even 800MB for 80 min CDs.

Your HD is too full. You shouldn't realy let your HD get that full. Fortunately most video apps won't let you proceed if there isn't enough space. Your OS needs the extra space, maybe 100mb min. I usually give myself 500mb min.
Maybe try dumping any unused media and try it again.
