Will iMovie 2 run effectively on OS 8.6?

I'm using an iMac DVSE (from last year, the first graphite model).

im running imovie2, on 8.6

i have a 292 wallstreet, with 320megs of ram. Seems ok to me.

I just downloaded iMovie 2 on to my iMac DV and I did the install and it did NOT work. I called Apple and told them what had happened, becuase when I had called earlier that day at noon, they told me all I needed to do was download iMovie 2. (I had just bought a new Canon ZR10 Digital Camcorder and when I hooked it up to my iMac. iMovie 1.0 would not allow me to import the footage I had shot over the weekend) So, when I called apple they told me to download iMovie 2 and that would solve my problem. Suffice to say after spending 49.00 and 1hr 17minutes waiting for it to finish download it did not work. I called Apple told them what they had told me earlier and they are now sending me a free copy of Mac OS 9.0, but if you know how to get my Canon ZR10 camera to work with iMovie or how to make iMovie 2.0 work on my 8.6 machine...I would love to hear it!

Try installing on an OS9 comp then transferring it all to your 8.6 comp.
