what's the resolution when you capture miniDV footage in your Mac?

Actually, it's 720x480. It just gets cut to 640x480 by most televisions. That's why there are "Title Safe" and "Action Safe" areas.

Actually, it is 720x480. Getting "cut" to 640x480 has nothing to do with "Title Safe" or "Action Safe" areas.

DV uses nonsquare pixels. If you are capturing DV, it is 720x480. If you are capturing from a DV camera through an analog capture card it is most likely to be 640x480.

I'm capturing the shots with Premiere 5.1 but the movies resolutiona is 640 x 480... why?
