Nope, these two small examples were rendered in Lightwave, which has just recently been released for MacOS X and (finally!) a facelift on the GUI in over 6 years.
Another example of Lightwave struttin' its stuff is in those Dodge Different commercials. Those aren't real trucks and cars. Those are rendered modles in Lightwave.
Just a glimps of light to look forward to in the Mac world of multimedia. This, by the way, is Maya's arch enemy.
