Recently I've been recording vinyl records, splitting the tracks, and burning them to CD. Some of them are in great condition and they sound CD quality with no clicks or pops at all. Others, on the other hand, are more worn and have a lot of pops and clicks. Arboretum's Ray Gun works to an extent, but after so much noise reduction, it sounds like I'm underwater.

My idea is to record the same record 2-4 times, and compare the recordings, keeping only the audio that appears in all of the recording. I'm thinking this would reduce some of the more random clicks (the scratches obviously won't be different for each recording, but they might vary in loudness.)

I've got Final Cut, which I use to do most of my audio work, and Pro Tools Free. Is there a filter that will do what I want to do?
