Hi
I've been trying to export the audio out of a video clip I downloaded from the net. It plays fine in Quicktime, but can not be edited. The file is an Mpeg1 mixed track. The video is convertable but the audio cannot be touched or seen by anything besides the fact it will "play only" in quicktime.

I get no audio when:
1. Export to QT mov(audio preffs stay transparent and unusable)
2. Bring it into a video editing app(video tracks fill but audio tracks stay empty)
3. As a long shot I tried to import the file into protools, needless to say it didn't work.

It seems to me I'm missing a plugin?
Seems weird that QT can play it but cannot export it.

Any suggestions before I record audio to tape then redigitize. Then resinc, then edit?

It seems the way MPEGS work is that audio and video is mixed, or muxed, as I belive the term is..

Anyway just get bbDemux from versiontracker and you'll be able to turn your mpeg into a mpg and a mpa file, from there you can change the .mpa into what you like and then re-attach it to the video using qt pro by choosing "add' from the edit menu, or pressing opt apple key v
