Does anyone know how I would go about converting a QuickTime file to an animated gif?
Thanks

Without the specifics i'm not sure but GraphicConverter (shareware) should do it. Check www.versiontracker.com.

I suppose you could take the QT movie, export it as an image sequence, then import the resulting pictures into something that makes animated GIFs. I haven't made an animated GIF in ages, so I don't really know how to make one anymore!

export the image sequence from QT and import the individual frames into ImageReady frame by frame, optimize, and voila, you have your animated GIF. Depending on the size of your QT source movie however, the GIF would be massive. I would suggest converting it to Flash if your intention is web based. There is a new utility that does just this, converts DV or QT directly to Flash but for the life of me I cant remember the name right now, just do a forum search.

people ruin everything....
