OK dumb question alert. How do I configure iMovie so video is imported from my DV camera to an external hard drive rather than the internal one on my powerbook?

Thanks...

when you create your new project just put it on the drive you want to capture to. As an interesting aside, I just bought a swell shareware program called BTV which lets you specify up to 2 alternate drives to start capturing to when the primary scratch disk fills up

Just an additional note, that if you want to burn DVD from that 2nd drive, after you edit your imovie, you will get stuck in stage 3 encoding.

Sorry, stage 3 encoding is when you try to burn a DVD from iMovie, a stage that encoding from iMovie to DVD. But if you're not burning a DVD, you have nothing to worry.

Cheers!
