Is there a way to see what codec a QT movie was encoded with?

Try checking with OS 9 (I know, I know, you probably don't want to boot into 9, but give it a try anyway).

The properties doesn't tell you what codec it's encoded with though, which is the information I'm looking for (not for this particular video at any rate).

Apple "Video" is a codec. For more detailed information you'll need the QT5Pro key.
