Hey. I was thinking instead of getting a camera, I'd get a dv camcorder. I'd probably just use this camcorder for personal stuff (not that, sickos) like recording my friends skate around, filiming stuff when I go on vacation, etc. I've been looking for a begginer cam, and I found the Canon ZR 40 Mini DV camcorder: http://www.macmall.com/macmall/shop/...sp?dpno=968280

Do you all suggest this cam for a begginer, such as myself? I want to take the video from that camera and import it straight to iMovie to mess around with. Any help/suggestions would help. Thanks.

I put a V-TECH sticker on my iMac DV 400 and i'm burnin' Geo Metro's left and right.

Apple list this camera for sale on their web site so it will work. I did not see it on the compatablity list but I would bet that is just an oversight by Apple.

Any of these will work great for iMovie. Just make sure you have a large HD. DV and iMovie can use up a lot. What kind of mac are you doing this on?

The next cool thing is to burn a DVD. Hey it's only money...

Ah, yes. I checked it out on the Apple website, but they're charging $600 for it! The cheapest I've seen it is for $420 at worldtradedigital.com

I'm using a imac 400 dv. I'm planning to buy a new hard drive also.

I've been using the original Canon ZR-10 with great results. Has worked flawlessly with iMovie, and color seems to be better than an earlier Panasonic which I had
