Two questions/comments:
On the "iMovie titles" thread, someone mentioned the thumbnails for the clips become all static. I have had the same problem. I would trim the first frame or two off - it would look fine - but then after you quit and start up again, several of the thumbnails are all static. Doesn't seem to affect the actual video. Applying transitions seems to remove problem. Quirky.
My real question is about audio dropouts. I've done a lot of short several-minute videos with pretty good results. Recently put together an hour-and-a-half video collection, and noticed occasional audio dropouts or blips every other few minutes. DV on the Mac sounds fine, but when output to tape you get these annoying blips now and then. Nothing severe, just annoying if you know what it originally sounds like. Have others had this problem? Could it be a hard drive speed problem, or just a limitation of the software? Would moving up to Final Cut be better? Or would it be better to put the money into a SCSI drive?
