Does anyone know if the quicksilver comes with a firewire cable, and if so is it a 4pin to 6pin? I just bought the media converter and it is a four pin interface, and if I remember correctly firewire on the mac is 6-pin. I am still awaiting the arrival of my dual 800 and just wanted to know if I need to go purchase another cable.

thanks

My iMac DVSE 500 (summer of 2000) came with a 6 to 4 pin firewire cable. If I had to guess, your tower will come with one also

I wouldn't expect it to include one. My G4 (a year and a half old) didn't come with one, and I've never heard of it. iMacs have a tendency to ship with a whole load of stuff, G4s on the other hand are loners..

I was shipped an iMac a year and a half ago, and it came with one. So if SirCastor didn't get one with his G4 then I wouldn't expect you to get one with your tower.

My G4 Gigabyte tower (Aug/00) came with a 6pin firewire cable.
It's just my humble opinion.

The last TiBooks, G4/533 tower and cube I opened all had the cable. I don't think you need to get one.

You was robbed!

If it didn't come with my Ti, I must be having a Senior Moment at 30, cuz I know I never bought one- I don't own a DV camcorder. But yet, I'm carrying one in my Saddlebag, just in case the emergency need to capture DV ever arises

Yeah, I'm confident the cable comes with it.

According to this Datasheet (Page 3, under the 3 configurations), you're getting one.

Edit: Oh yeah, it's the 4 to 6 pin camcorder cable.

Just got a G4QS 9 days ago, and it definately came with a 6-to-4 pin (mac to DV) cable. That makes two, including the one that came with my iMac DV.
