I'm working with FCP, but for the life of me, I can't get any of the text generators to export any knd of decently sharp text. I've tried every setting I can find, and most of the text generators, but even 30-point is coming out a blocky mess (it seems to have been rendered at a much lower resolution and then magnified), just barely readable on a computer screen and I shudder to think of what a TV screen would do with it. My renders are all set to Hi Res, but the renders within FCP (which I know are supposed to display at a lower quality than a final export would) look no different from the final export.

Looking at the preliminary "pseudo-renders" in the Canvas works just fine if a frame isn't rendered; the text is very nice and crisp. How do I duplicate this on the final export (to a QuickTime movie in my particular case)?
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

The preview mode on FCP3 (and any other NLE I assume) is not going to look very good. It is a short coming of trying to put NTSC images on a computer screen. My titles (and all video for that matter) looks less than perfect on my mac screen. To prove how the final product will look just export to DV tape a small movie made using titles and look at it on a real NTSC TV or monitor. It should look nearly perfect at that point.

If using QT movies as a final product make sure you enable HQ mode in QT for sharper playback (it will look blocky if you don't). I find QTr's with HQ enabled has nearly perfect titles (providing the res. stays high.
