5.1 Sound output from DVD

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a way of sending the 5.1 signal out of the stereo sound jack?

I have a stereo 5.1input on my Creative 5.1 decoder.

So.. If I get the DVD player to send out the 5.1 with NO processing the 5.1 stream would be proccessed by my Creative and I would get true 5.1......

Pro's and Con's on a postcard please..
