Okay, I'll admit, I've never setup a QTSS nefore, so I don't know exactly how to do this.

I installed the server, and it runs great (I can manually open files in the QuickTime Player), however, I would like to know how to use the EMBED tags to pop a QuickTime file directly into a page that is served via Apache.

Anybody know how this is handled via the plugin? The documentation on the QuickTime Authoring pages at Apple's site are sketchy.

If anyone can lend a hand, let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Hi-

You'll want to use something like this:

<EMBED SRC="poster_movie.mov" WIDTH=240 HEIGHT=196 AUTOPLAY=true CONTROLLER=false LOOP=false PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/" href="test_MSTR.mov" target="myself">

the key is to make a poster movie, and have that served via your Apache server. Here is info on creating and embedding a poster movie:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/authoring/posterht.html

When the user clicks on the poster movie, they can access the streaming URL (either in place, or via the quicktime player application).

Do I need to create a link to the /Library/QuickTimeStreaming/Movies in my /Library/WebServer/Documents directory or set my QTSS to point to a subdirectory of my Apache Documents root(movies/ for example)?

Thanks for you help!
