All of Quicktime 5's Aquaish widgets are stored in PNGf resources. I've been trying to edit these and have figured out how to turn them into regular .png files that can be read by photoshop, but I can't seem to figure out how to get them back into a resource file format. Any ideas. Anyone have a template for a PNGf resouce.

If I can solve this I can create some very cool new skins for 5.

I have solved the QT5 problem.
After you have aquired your PNGf, modify as you like in Photoshop or any other program that can open PNG files. Make sure that when you open the PNG the Aplha mask is intact, or the button will disappear when clicked. After editing, save the PNG. I haven't tried any compression yet, so the resulting PNG will be larger than the original, but that's OK. Open your PNG file in Resourcerer (or ResEdit) and copy the Hex data in the <DF> into the PNGf resource of the same number in QT5 player. Save and there you go, new PNGf resources in QT5. I have changed the hue of the buttons in mine to a light purple and it look great. Also, I have made a patcher that replaces the candy colour window widgets with graphite widgets just like in OS X. It should be available (hopefully) from ResExcellence soon. I posted it over the weekend, so check it out and grab it from www.ResExcellence.com. Have fun!!!

Apple noted this as well...

"QuickTime 5 can be skinned via Photoshop."
