What stand-alone Digital 8 VCR to get?

A post at the Macworld forum discusses the use of a stand-alone DV VCR for final video production. A stand-alone unit would limit the wear and tear on the camcorder.

Any suggestions on what to get? The SONY DSR11 seems like overkill. Isn't there a (pro-) consumer product?
