Hi,
I am one of the Apple Developer Connect student member out there and I always like to keep my iMac Rev. A up-todate. After Apple released the preview version of QT5, I quickly downloaded it and then installed on my hard drive. The problem I found was all movies are semi-color, which mean under normal(dither copy) option, all movies(mov, mpg) were displayed as black and white or other wrong color. Meanwhile, after I installed the CarbonLib 1.1f3c1, released on Oct 26, I found out that the color errors were corrected and it finally acted like QuickTime 4.1.2. Here is my question; is QuickTime 5 and CarbonLib related? I'm running Mac OS 9.0.4 with 256MB RAM, as well as MacOS X PB installed.

i'm having the same problem. All my movie files using the Sorenson codec play off color. i'm considering the 'fix' you've used but the warnings about the beta CarbonLib made me hold off. Have you had any problems using the beta CarboLib? Is anybody else experiencing the same problem? Are there any other solutions?

Hey,
Meanwhile, I did not see any problem due with this developer version of CarbonLib 1.1f3c1. I found that it did solve the Apple System Profiler type 3 crash after quit on the 1.1f2 version. AppleWorks 6.0.4 seems to run smoother than before, other than that I didn't see any different. I guess Apple won't give any support of its softwares in SDK form, you may install it and see.
Hoep this help

i've installed the developer CarbonLib but it didn't help. Oddly enough, though movies compressed with the Sorenson Codec still play off color, when i access the video controls in Beta QuickTime 5 the color returns to normal and the movie plays fine??? But when i turn the video controls off the color reverts to its earlier off color mode.

Well, besides putting the developer version of CarbonLib, I did remove all those old 4.1.2 QT extensions, control panel, preference, and the player. Meanwhile, I chose "Custom" and then select all options for installing QT5 preview.

So where does someone who is not a developer and has the same off-color problems with QT5 get this new version of CarbonLib?
Anyone?
