QuickTime 5 for UK Mac OS?

Does anybody know when QuickTime 5 will be available for UK Mac OS users? When I run the QuickTime updater that came with my UK Mac OS 9.1, it says that QT4 is the latest version and that no upgrade is needed.

Or, alternatively, is it safe to install the USA version of QT5 on a UK Mac OS?

It's probably safe, since I'm running US QT 5 on a Swedish OS 8.6. And if it goes bad you can just remove the QT extensions and re-install QT from your System CD.
