I've started making some videos with my imacdv, and have run into a problem. when saving the movie as a quicktime using the basic setting for CD backup, it worked fine - made a 92.5mb movie. when I adjusted it to 16:9 and used the default setting for web streaming (should be *much* smaller than previous version) it came out to 215mb!

I'm assuming the different codecs work better with different aspect ratios. which ones work best for letterbox?

sorenson should do a good job, most of the big studio trailers are compressed on qt-sorenson 16:9. media cleaner is the tool.

Media Cleaner Pro is definately the tool to use. You should also consider the Sørensen Developer Codec, and QDesign Pro.

There was a fantastic article about Doug Werner and the settings he used to get such fantastic results for the Star Wars Episode I teaser & trailer. I wish I could remember where I read it.

If anyone has the link, please post! Thanks!
