How do I make a CD that will auto playwhen it is loaded into a mac??
It needs to run as opposed to just opening up on the desktop
thanks Angus

Do you want to master a cd that does this, or do you want to do this with a cd you have? The only way I know to auto-cd-anything is a pref setting in quicktime. I keep mine off because it's annoying and because I'm a little squeamish about an app that launches itself without my say-so. Virus detection programs would probably honk at this as well.
just my 2¢

Yes, I want to make a master CD that will auto run when put into the computer.

Thanks Angus

I have cds that will automatically open the root folder when inserted, but that's the closest I've ever seen to a cd running a program on insert. Just cause I ain't seen it don't mean it can't be done, tho.

Hi,

To do this, you will need Toast. You have to put your files on a disk image first. This can be done using Apple's DiskCopy, ShrinkWrap, or use Toast to create temporary partition. Copy your files into the mounted volume, and drag the volume into Toast (Mac Volume should be the mode you write the CD in), then, click the "Data" button.
There are 4 options the last one is for auto start, you should direct it to a program not a file (try...). You can also create bootable system CDs with the bootable option, although you need to create a system folder.
I would advise against using autoplay for software, because I've had a MacAddict cd with an autostart worm...

Hope this helps.

Bartman,
