I've used imovie for quite a while now with good results. However, It has started causing problems when I try to import a clip from my camera.

The import is not smooth and is jerky. When I play it back, I get pieces (very small) missing and plays back that way. It shouldn't be memory since I got 256mb RAm on my 400mHZ imac DV. Should I reload imovie?

Any one else experience this?

Try defragging your hard drive. You will need Norton Utilities or a similar product.
