Has anyone else tried using FCP on an iMac? I have it and their demo files work great (slow but great.) However, when I try to do full DV editing or motion graphics, it hangs, jumps, and drops frames. Any thoughts?
FCP 1.2.1 has the problems you mention. An Apple lecturer at a DV presentation said FCP 1.2.5 will be fully compatible with the iMac.

Check out EditDV by Digital Origin! It provides an incredible digital editing suite, and it's compatible with iMac out of the box. It's also considerably cheaper.
I've been using FCP with my iMacDVSE sense about Jan. with no problems. I have a Sony TVR-310.
It used to hang on me every now and then (like you mentioned), until I turned off the "Mirror on Monitor" option. Now it never crashes and I just watch what ever I'm editing on the display of my DV cam instead of my monitor and DV cam at the same time. Doing this added a huge amount of stability to it, and you can't hear the hard drive working so hard either.
