I am creating a video that we are going to show at work. My workplace is all PC and I would just like for them to know that I created this masterpiece on a Mac. I would like a graphic or video that says something along the lines of "Made with iMovie on a Mac". I was going to roll my own, but I could not find any sizeable graphics of the iMovie logo or icon. Anybody have anything along those lines or can tell me where to find iMovie graphic(s)?

Hey Bill,
How about the splash screen that starts everytime iMovie starts? That would be very cool (the one with the kids circling, then it shows the directors tool closing then shows and Apple with iMovie on it...) It is in the resource folder of iMovie called "Splash.mov".
good luck and let us know how it goes!

Great idea! I hadn't thought of that, but it probably wouldn't have occurred to me that the opening would be easily accessible anyway. Sounds like the perfect solution to my problem!

That device is known as a "slate," and was originally used to sync the video and audio in post production by matching the "snap!" sound with the frame of the slate in the closed position.

Just thought I'd throw that in...

That Splash into is a *.mov file. How do you import such a file into an iMovie Project?

Export the movie to a DV Stream (you'll need QuickTime Pro) and then import the clip into iMovie 2.

Perhaps it's British terminology, but a 'slate' is also known as a 'clapper board' (for obvious reasons)

That may very well be, after all you call cookies biscuits too.

I think the US term "slate" derives from the surface used to write (typically with chalk) scene & director info etc.

Just as a follow up, the video went over very well. I had a lot of people (and I work in the MIS department) stunned by what I was able to do. Several people were asking me about doing it on the Mac, although most of them didn't seem to understand the difference between iMovie and iMac. I tried to explain that iMovie was the software and I had a Power Mac, but that drew some blank stares...

That is not surprising. I know many users who claim to be "computer literate," but still do not understand even the simplest concepts like the difference between an applicaiton and a document. They mey be litterate, but they're only reading on a second-grade level.

Bill,
That's great to hear! Congrats! Were you able to use the iMovie clip? Did you start with it or end with it?
regards,
dave

Sorry I didn't make that clearer in my post. I did indeed use the clip. It came up at the end of the credits. I did a text display saying something like "Created entirely using..." and then the iMovie clip. That display seemed to be the source of the confusion with my co-workers (it shows the Apple logo with 'iMovie' under it).
