I'm not sure why, but everytime I view a QT mov file, mpeg, or avi, and I want to download it to my HD, the option is never available. I checked the preferences of both Quicktime & Internet Explorer and all seem to logically enable saving. Any suggestions?

if you go to your temporary files folder, all of the movies you watch will be in their--but only when IE5 is running.....so when ie 5 is open, go to the folder and move the file to another folder, and rename it to, if u want...

If you do not have QuickTime Pro you will not be able to save QuickTime movies downloaded in your browser, or via the Open URL command in the QuickTime Player.

Even if you do have QuickTime Pro, some movies are authored to preclude saving. These can still be downloaded via HTTP (if you have the URL) and played locally, but can not be edited.

My favorite for embedded movies (the ones with no quicktime menu) or when trying to download movies on a machine on which I don't have QT Pro is:
1. View the HTML source in Explorer, and find the URL of said Movie. (usually the one ending in .mov - duh!)
2. Get into your Download Manager and double click a previously downloaded file.
3. Paste the URL of the movie into the Address field, and rename the file appropriately.
4. Hit Reload and hey presto, one spankingly new movie on your desktop.

Ta Da!
