As I was perusing the Apple Store online,wondering how i could afford Final Cut Pro for $999, imagine my suprise when the educational price for it showed up as $249! I know this is probably not a suprise for anyone, but I was pleasently suprised. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew if this was standard educational pricing that will continue indefinatly, or is this some sort of limited time special. I am trying to decide about getting it now, or waiting for the OS X version, speaking of which, does anyone know when that is coming out? I know you cannot possibly know the pricing, but does anyone have any gut feelings or observations from experience about whether it will also be this cheap for education consumers? Thanks for your help!

Looks like it. Pretty cheap, huh? Especially when you consider it's $1000 wo/ the education discount and it used to be $500 w/ the education discount. I saw no indications that this was a special short-term price.

No, clue when the X version is coming out. It may be a while. I'm sure the price will be the same or nearly the same for the X version.
