I know how to use divX Doctor to convert divx files using QT Pro, but the DivX doctor doesn't work with clips that have no sound. Does anyone know of a way to do it without using Snapz pro? Thanks.

I mentioned in another thread that I found a couple of crappy divx system codecs, that allow me to play (badly) divx movies in quicktime without first using the divx doctor. Is this what you're looking for?
By no means do I recommend leaving the extensions active after you've used them for this...If you want them you can search hotline, or I can email them to you....

sounds like it would work. When you say "badly" what do you mean? Is the quality really poor or do they tend to crash the system? I can deal with the crashes, but I don't want to lose quality. I'd love it if you could e-mail it to me. Thanks!
