I have a full length movie in JPEG format in two parts
both parts are around 600MB in size.
one part plays fine in QT, and is close to 1 hour long.
the other part only plays for 2 minutes!
It's not as if QT just stops playing, the progression
bar shows it has reached the end.
This seems impossible though. 600MB for 2 minutes of low
quality video??
Anyone know what could cause QT to possibly only see
1/100 of a movie? Ideas how do I get QT to show me the whole movie?
Or is there another player I could try?
DivX shows me the same thing, only worse, because the sound doesn't even sync up.

Could be a corrupted file. Try getting info on the movie in QTPlayer and check the data rate. If the data rate is about the same as the first movie it's probably corrupted.

here's an update:
I partially FTPd the mpeg file to my computer at work, a G4 tower. I got about 1/3 uploaded. Then I tried it at work with the same version of QT and it now works.
Any ideas what's going on?
I'm currently making a 2nd transfer of the whole movie this time, and if it works on my work computer, does it make sense to try to FTP it back onto my home computer and try it again?
this doesn't make any sense to me but I guess that's what I'll try . . .

Here's the latest update:
I did a complete FTP of the mpeg file to my work computer, and this version has the same exact problem. QT thinks this is a 1 minute movie!!
The partially uploaded movie plays fine as usual.
So a partial FTP of the mpeg file fixes the problem.
Questions:
Are there any other mpeg players for the mac you guys can suggest?
Is there any way to fix the corrupt mpeg file?
