In the Mac OS we've always been able to use full, long file names. Why are mp3 file names limited to 27 characters? Is ther a way around this?

Full long file names? No. . .I've always been limited to 27-character length. It's Windoze that let's you give your files novels-for-names.

Disks are limited to 27. Its 31 for files.
Or are you talking about ID3 tags?

Hopefully the OS X version of Napster will be updated to allow longer filenames.

OS X supports 255 character names on HFS+ disks and 256 on UFS disks... ya know... who needs a word processor when you can just write whatever you happen to be writing in a folder name?
