Is it possible to extract sound and music from DVD and burn it onto a CD? Say you have a music video on DVD and you want to take just the audio and put it on CD; can it be done? Thanks!

Well a simple answer is yes. I do it all the time. I use a Sharp portable Minidisc recorder and my PBG3. Conect the Line In & Out add some headphones and play your DVD.You hear the sound through the recorder an what you hear is what you get. I think the Minidisc is well suited for this. You can use the audio clips for just about anything. Remember if you bought the DVD you own the right to the content on it. Screw the MPAA! You buy it you own it!!

I have an other solution...

You can extract the audio directly with your mac by using DVDExtractor. The sound is the ac3 track or mp2. If it's mpeg layer 2, you will need to decode the track using soundapp or mpecker. If it's ac3, you will find the tool to decode the track at www.macdvd.org (DVDExtractor is here too).
