Could be that it can't find iTunes, is it installed in it's default place on the startup disk? You haven't moved the iTunes application somewhere else? I checked the prefs file in Resorcerer, and it seems as if it keeps saved where the application should be.

Most likely, the Desktop DB is f#*?-ed up. Hold down Cmd-Opt-Ctrl the next time you start up your computer.

It might also help to see if there are any applications with the same Creator code as iTunes (e.g. an older iTunes version) on your hard disk - and trash them.

i tried both your advices, moved iTunes to intial place and rebuilt desktop. NOthing helps.

As a hint,
1. I put a new memory module PC133 which runs just fine on my G3: however, after it seems iTunes module can not bring it.
2. I have also iTunes for Mac OSX.

Maybe these are primary reasons? I reinstalled iTunes 1.1 but no change..
