Hello-
Told my wife we needed a Sony Cybershot DSC-P1 to take pics with a short "voice file" to identify the picture. Then play the pics using QT4pro on a cube 500/256/40 OS9.0.4.

Here is the problem:
The pic and voice file is there, it plays on the cam.
QT player will play it once but try to replay without closing the file and QT loses the voice mostly and sometimes the pic.
Tried copying file to disc before running, save as...,export,import no solution as yet.

Sony's responce was "everyone uses Windows" oooo..kay.

I like the cam and love the Cube. Just want to prove my arguement to my wife how easy it will be for her to download all the images to a catalog or folder, organize and view, or play(Images w/sound).

Weak links are:
QTpro not playing image with sound more than once.
Need easy way to download all files from Sony cam to catalog or other software that creates a thumbnail and renames the file.

Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem you are. I have a Sony Cybershot S70 and the only way that I can get the pictures from the memory stick to the computer (Powerbook G3/500) is to drag the folder over to the hard drive.

I think part of the problem is that the Sony camera with the memory stick is not "seen" as a digital camera like other cameras (canon, epson etc) The sony is "seen" as a disc that is mounted on the desktop much like a floppy or Zip disk. The other cameras have included software that will let you download the pictures to your hard drive. Then you could easily delete from the camera.

I would also like to find software that I can use to download the pictures from the Sony memory stick. Don't know it if exists.

The drivers with the cybershot will read the memory stick to the point of a disc icon on the desktop. Then we must take it from there.

Back to the non functioning Voice print,(and MPEG as well) on an image. Sony says too bad, it works in the camara and does not have to work anywhere else. Dead end at Apple too. They say Sony uses an unknown file for this use. QT will play it once, then gone.

Should and are thankfull it takes usable pics.
Will wait for QT5 or a patch from Sony.
Will keep looking for a more elegant app to extract and catalog file.
