For anybody out there who's thinking about upgrading their sound, I just bought the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system at Best Buy for $170 and it absolutely ROCKS. There is nothing comprable at this price point. The difference between these and, say, the higher-end Altec Lansings is huge. Playing Unreal Tournament has taken on a totally new dimension as has cutting videos on FCP 3. Anyway... big, big thumbs up for anyone who's thinking about some better audio for their Mac.

If you exclude the logitech z560's, that is. $140 for 4.1 setup, 5.1 should be released RSN. Some people say that the frequency response isn't as smooth as the klipsch, but I just tweak my eq to compensate.

On the other hand, you could get Inflatable speakers of, supposedly, any shape. Haven't read anything on their quality but cool nonetheless.
