Hi there,

I was hoping that someone out there could tell me, in idiot-speak, how to convert the trailers from dvd's into a .mov file.

I would like to be able to do this so that I could use the resulting .mov file in the DVD Shelf 1.1 program, to catalogue my DVD library.

I have DVD Extractor to extract the trailer, but I don't know if I should demux the sound, or anything.

I also have quicktime 5 pro and imovie.

Hope someone can help,

Thanks,

Matthew

yes, demux the sound. Then get MacMpeg2Decoder to convert the video to quicktime, and MacAC3Decoder to convert the sound to mp3. Then use copy and Edit->Add in QTPro to combine the two tracks. You may be out of luck on mAC3Dec, though, because the developer's site went down about a week ago for some reason.

If you aren't in the know about how to extract DVD, I would do this DVD to VCR (or any DV) to iMovie... It's not the best way to do it, but it works.[/LIST]
