Chris, I think I used the wrong type word. Maybe if I do an analogy instead since I can't think of the right one right now.
Say with MP3s. If you want burn the MP3 to a cd you need to translate it to AIFF format.
so I'm looking to take DivX to MPEG-1.
I'll search the site but I think what you sent me to was just to watch DivX movies. thanks for the help though

Cipher_13, you had a typo but I figure it out in the link. It seems to be the same site! I'm going to look around in the Mac Forums there though.
thanks for the help so far everyone!

Hehe, thanks for noting the typo
I know what you mean now, and theres nothing that I know of that will do that.
You mean something to encode to mpeg 1 right?
That'd take a hell of alot of disk space... and DVD-R's are $8000...

well I got a lot of room so that isn't a problem. I was thinking CD...as in VCD so I don't have to worry about the DVD-R.
sure I'll lose quality but I"m not worried about that. I just want to see if I can do it.
