Hi, i was wondering if all the experts in here can direct me to the best sites for music sharing for Macs since the demise of napster. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm using LimeWire ( www.limewire.com ). Its pretty good, not as good as Napster, but better than nothing. and it doesn't install any spyware. Aparently.
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

Aimster (although sometimes quite tetchy) is the client that works for me.

Have to throw in props for both MacSatellite and LimeWire (although I've found LimeWire to be a tad unstable when in OS 9 mode)....

Audiogalaxy (MacSatellite) is the best one, it's fast, there is a lot of songs (IMO more than Napster). You can also add songs to a wish list and it will find them for you. You can download the song where the last download ended, pretty clever !

You just need to download the MacSatellite and then go to audiogalaxy.com....Enjoy

And for people with upload limit, you don't have to share your MP3s so it's a good solution.

Limewire is a nice Gnutella client especially for none mp3 files but I find it quite unstable and pretty slow...Gnutella network is the main problem, it's not as fast as Napster was.

Audiogalaxy/Mac Satellite is really faster and there is more choice than on Limewire users...Tryt it

Anyone successfully get MacSatellite to d/l more than one song at a time? I've changed the prefs in my "home" on Audiogalaxy to 10, but I still just get one song at a time.

Audiogalaxy with macsattelite is Great! It is the best since Napster (RIP). To be able to download more than one song at a time you have to be sharring at least 20 songs.

I would have to throw in my vote for Audiogalaxy also. I have been able to find some rather obscure tunes I was looking for amazingly enough. Some oddities still need to be polished - but in general it works great.

* you can't d/l more than one song at a time until you are sharing 20 (might be 25) songs. This didn't work for me at first, but at some point it started working - don't know how or why. Interesting that it even works if you are showing 20+ songs available but you are behind a firewall and there is no chance in hell of anyone accessing your files.

* occasionally the Satellite will slow to a crawl. Seems to happen when it gets stuck on one song that is d/l very slow, or fo rno reaons whatsoever. I have found that in general, disconnecting and reconnecting in the Satellite works wonders to reinitiate the speed and multiple d/l.

* I seem to get the best luck when I launch Satellite, then click on the "go to AudioGalaxy web page" (in the lower right corner of the Satellite) - as opposed to opening the AudioGalaxy web page first, THEN launching Satellite.

Hope that offers some help.

Is anyone else but me finding that MacSatellite is introducing lots of clicks and glitches into mp3's they download? 90% of mine have this in them, other than that - it's wonderful (except that the carbon version doesn't work =P )

Update: I've worked out that wherever you disconnect/reconnect or quit the application is where it seems to put in the glitch.
