I'm not quite sure *exactly* what you're looking for, but you can create "Playlists" in Audion 2 (http://www.panic.com/audion/) which when saved, are saved as .m3u's.
And, it's shareware.
* P.S. My only problem with these .m3u's (and I'm not sure if other programs use the same format since I've given up on .m3u's) is that they are linked as Absolute rather than Relative to the music. As in: Volume/Folder/Folder/File rather than: m3u/file. So... if you move your music to another Volume (or Folder), all of your .m3u's are worthless since they'll reference the files Absolutley, and not Relatively.</STRONG>
I have Audion, so I'll give it a try. You may be interested in the following - regarding the "issue" of absolute URLs.
Over at QT Talk the following question was asked:
Does anyone know the best way to create a playlist for QT. In WM, I can just add multiple entries into the reference file (.asx) and one will play after the other. Is that possible somehow with a QT ref mov? I want to avoid having to go in and hard code the changes to make it happen in html. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The reply was:
Open (QT) player. select open url in new player. enter url of directory that has the m3u files. let the player play through the whole directory. save normal as master playlist. what you have done is make a ref movie with one track for each tune and all the timing information
you can then make other playlists off the master with the extract tracks function. you can play these playlists from your desk top. embed them into a web page or e-mail them. they are very small files
i usually go through the tracks in the general properties page to change the name of the tracks to the names of the tunes rather than track1, track2, etc. this makes making playlists a lot simpiler
So, I was just trying to figure out the m3u part of this. You've helped. Thanks.
