What is the difference between the regular version and the "production bundle version"

I read online at www.adobe.com what the production bundle adds, but having never used the program I can't tell if these features are helpful...

Any know, and in idiot speak, give me a reason to consider buying the produciton bunde...

for 250 i can get after effects 5.5 reguarl version via educational discount.... but the prod bundle still cost 1400

what do you get for the extra 1150? Is it only for people who really need to use special effects?
