Hi there! I'm new to this forum.
I have a PowerBook G3 (OS 9) with a 400MHz processor and a DVD running Apple DVD Player 2.2.
I've been playing DVDs thorugh the PowerBook and projected onto a 60 inch wide screen using an InFocus DLP projector via the VGA (?) port (not the S-video out.)
The picture is amazing considering the slap together nature of the setup. Anyway, although I love the look of the picture (which looks to my eyes to be twice the resolution compared to the S-viedo) I am disappointed with the sound as I can only get 2 channel matrixed pro-logic surround out of the sound port. Anyone know of any sound cards that can output an optical 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS signals?
Also, do you know how the DVD player handles anamorphic DVDs? I think it is doing the appropriate squeezing of this material, but I'm not sure.
Thanks.
