Hello all,
I have so many windows media movies. I cannot play them on my mac without VPC.
I'd like to convert them to apple quicktime movies.
I don't mind to convert the movies within windows or Apple, but I don't know what application to use. I really want some freeware or inexpensive app to do this.
Anyone ideas?

first, you could play the videos with the mac version of windows media player and/or divX;-)

but to answer you... I saw (never tried) some converters on some hotline servers...
quicktime can read some avi files (compressed with old codecs...)

I think that the easier is to convert your movies to mpeg-1 from a PC...

Oh, I didnot know the mac win media could play them. I'll get the win media now.

And I can see many kind of extentions (.asx, .mpa, .mpe, .avi, .mov, .mpg, etc.) within mac, but within windows everything I can see is win media formats.
I really want to play with quicktime.
So, what application or utility can covert them to mpeg or whatever quicktime can undastand?
I don't think Apple can covert them and I don't really use PC so I have no idea what kind of PC app can do.
Dose anyone know a good PC app to do it?
