If and when QuickTime 6 is released with AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) will you start ripping your music files with it?

From what I have read, you can get a much higher quality AAC music file at a lower kb/s then what MP3 has to offer. From reports, a 128kb/s AAC file has the sound quality of a 160-256 kb/s MP3 file, and others have gone on to say that the sound quality is even better then that.

I have around 100 CD's and tons of downloaded MP3's. I'm NOT going to toss music just because it's in the MP3 format, but I'm starting to think that I might reencode some of my CD's... The MP3's sound OK, but I can tell the difference between them and CD quality on about 1/3 of my songs.

I'm confused...

sure, if the quality is better and the file size smaller, and provided I can still make the songs into aiff for audio CDs. I won't rerip my music, but would start from then on using the better method (however, if others cannot play this format in their players, then I won't use it. mp3 is so egalitarian that I'm hesitant to use anything else unless it is very cross-platform and free.
