I've not been able to find one.

Also, is MPEG-4 the same thing as DivX??

Good question... I'm just getting into the DivX seen and I have a truckload of DVDs. How do I get them from DVD status to the DivX format using Macintosh hardware? Also, I tape various other shows with my Digital 8 recorder and would like to burn them to CD in a DivX format (and eventually to DVD when my new system arrives)

Here are my questions:

1) Is there a Macintosh software encoder for DivX?

2) What is the procedure for making DivX movies?

3) Should I care about DivX, or just wait for the Apple Superdrive to start making my Simpson's collection come to life on DVD. It's a tough call...

Any help would be wonderful...

P.S. No, Mpeg-4 is something Microsoft was working on, and then some guys reverse engineered that code to make DivX. (M$ didn't sue... yet)
