Hi,

I'm on the verge of getting a DV camcorder and am leaning heavily towards the Optura Pi. My priorities are low light capability (which it excells at ) and responsive and accurate autofocus and white balance. I don't really care about getting still photos off of it as I have an excellent 35 mm, but I would use it for web use. I should say that this is for home use and I need to keep the price under $2000.

If anyone can recommend another model besides the Optura Pi that excells in low light and feels that it is user friendly (with a Mac of coursse), I'd appreciate any comments. I'd like to make sure I did all my homework before buying it.

I have heard that JVC is not Mac compatible? Is this true? Too bad if they are not as they have what looks like a real winner.

i recall the same things about JVC vid cams but canon's always get the thumbs up. can't remember where i read it though...
